Why are these videos here, on the blog devoted to IELTS preparation?
First of all, watching these videos, you feel great
excitement, you are amazed and, I would say, fascinated by the way this
outstanding man speaks, his deep understanding of the educational process, his
vision of the changes that must be done in the field. His sense of humour is
awesome, making a motivational frame for his ideas. Sir Robinson's
charisma makes the videos immensely encouraging for your creativity, awakening
your thoughts. I guess, not all your teachers of English are so charismatic, have similar vast international eperience. It's a great chance for you to learn from one of the best teachers of the world. And, as additional bonus, you are broadening not only your horizons in the educational
field, but in other areas as well.
Second, while watching, you practice listening.
Any time you can pause the video and look up an unknown word in a dictionary,
if need. You can develop your active vocabulary quickly and with pleasure on
the wave of your inspiration and enthusiasm. The videos are always available,
so whenever you have some time to revise the vocabulary, the content, the
ideas, even the pronunciation, wherever you have the Internet, you can do it.
And the last but not least, you are absorbing ideas
that can be useful for you when you are preparing for any English Language
exam.
Sir Ken Robinson touches different areas of human
life, while speaking. You can find fantastic the ideas to speak about
education, attitude to life, relations, etc. If you agree with them (and my
understanding, it's impossible not to agree as the thoughts are
delivered on a luxury plate of reserved charismatic awareness of the person's
experience and flavored with precise and to-the-point examples), you can pick
them for your essays (education, learning English, school life, improvements
to make at school, college, university, etc.), for your speaking sessions (as
for IELTS, the topics on education, improvements, your school years are very frequent).
When writing an essay (Academic IELTS Part 2), when
answering the examiner's questions (Part 1, Part 3, IELTS speaking), when
developing your speech based on a cue card (IELTS Speaking Part 2), YOU NEED
SOMETHING TO SPEAK ABOUT, the ideas, arguments. Some of you feel lack of
them, don’t you?
You can find them in a great number in Sir Robinson's
videos.
I would strongly recommend you to include the videos
in your IELTS preparation schedules.
Have a pleasant and beneficial time!
