INTERMEDIATE AND UPPER LEVELS. LISTENING & SPEAKING. INNER CALMNESS

(RECOMMENDED AS A HOMEWORK)

  1. Watch the video interview with Paul Wilson. While watching the first time, write down the questions the interviewer is asking.
  2. Watch the video again. Try to guess the meanings of the following words (they sound similar to Russian translations):

spontaneous    combination     process     techniques     moment      focused      focus       personal   concentrate (i'm concentrating)      reflex       practices      meditate      meditating      satisfaction

   3.   The speech of Paul Wilson is full of complex words. Work with vocabulary and find the meanings of the following words from the interview (if you don't know the meanings):

calmness    peaceful    peacfulness    attention     capacity    accomplishment      approaching    sustain     sustainable     sustainability   experience    tension    embrace   mindfulness  mindfully    achieve

Are the words objects, characteristics or verbs (actions)? How do you know it? What is the suffix or suffixes of the words?

4. What is Paul Wilson's advice in the interview? He speaks about it again and again? How does he recommend to do all the things you do in life?

5. Do you agree with him?

Try to find yours if you like.

What do you think of them?
Do you agree with this imperatives?
What do the sayings mean?

And now we are getting back to the topic "SEE YOURSELF AS YOU REALLY ARE"

You have read the text about Sally who "sees herself as she really is", we have answered the questions and talked a little about Sally and the situation.

We are going to watch the video from YOUTUBE, a one-minute speech of Paul Wilson.

Before this, Let's think of the following:

Does you life seem hectic from time to time? Do you feel like an exhausted horse at the moments?
Do you need something to renew and refresh your energy?
